Mark Scoop Malinowski

Scoop created the Biofile interview feature in 1992.

About Me

I began doing Biofile interview portraits in 1992 about sports world figures for a local newspaper called “The Daily Record” of Morris County in NJ. Eventually the range of subjects expanded, to include absolutely anybody, from the arts, music, writers, police officers, lifeguards, adult film artists, clowns, astronauts, celebrity photographers, MMA fighters, even The Naked Cowboy. Over the years, Biofiles appeared in such publications as The New York Post, New York Daily News, MLB.com, The Ring, Tennis Magazine, Auto Racing Digest, Al Goldstein's SCREW, The Hockey News, The Sporting News, DirecTV Guide, NASCAR Scene, The Daily Racing Form, etc.

While attending the Miguel Cotto-Zab Judah world title fight at Madison Square Garden, I was able to meet and Biofile my first jazz artist, Wynton Marsalis, who is a gentleman and a very knowledgeable fan of boxing.

Now for Allaboutjazz.com, I look forward to doing many more Biofile interviews with various jazz artists...
